Our Story
“At goalie engineering, we believe in quality of service. We go above and beyond to assure that our goaltenders receive the highest quality training. Our goal here is to have you our your kids take away more than just goaltending itself.”
Quality - it’s a buzzword that is often used, but is only ever seen in a small percentage of products or services provided in society today. For those who are fortunate enough to choose what they do, they often find themselves in professions where their primary motivation is the wages. With this being the driver, their quality of work could be in a constant state of flux due to lack of motivation/passion.
Having been in the corporate workforce for over 9 years, I noticed that most companies boast quality of service/product, but rarely is it ever consistent. This led me down a path to try to understand why. Fresh out of school, I was determined to join the workforce and make an impact in my field. Highly motivated, I jumped in and gave it my all. Things were off to a great start, but as time passed, I noticed that my motivation began to diminish. Having lost the motivation, I pursued another discipline, hoping that it would be different. However, the cycle had repeated itself, and near the end of my 4 years in this new direction, I found myself lacking motivation. Once again I was questioning what I was doing with my life.
I could not repeat this cycle again, and it really pushed me to think about finding a profession where I was could stay motivated and be excited about my work. After much introspection, I realized that the motivation must not come from external factors - it must be intrinsic. Most people find themselves in professions where their primary motivation are the wages. With this being the driver, their quality of work could be in a constant state of flux due to lack of motivation/passion. Often, work is completed just so it can be finished. This ultimately results in products or services that lack consistency in quality. And therein I had found the connection: only in the most passionate of pursuits can one constantly find motivation from within. Providing quality then becomes a byproduct of such a pursuit, because it is directly tied to things that I truly cared about.
